WLC RALLY 2004

WHEN: AUGUST 20-22, 2004

WHERE: Fonthill, Ontario, Canada

This event is open to all WLCers, their families and their supporters. Come meet other WLCers from across North America!! ALL Dr. Phil's 13 challengers have been invited to this Rally as well as Dr Phil and Robin too. They received a personal invite via WLC Barbara (one of the 13 challengers and part of Niagara WLC Hometeam) and we have had a few positive responses so far (TBA).

Held at a Family Waterpark/Campground, this event will keep you active all weekend. Special guest speakers

Hello from WLC Peddlers Site

We have started a "Rowing Tour". It is our second of many
tours . We are working on Key 6 among all others. It is too late to start
this current tour now but perhaps when we are done you can come join us for the next tour. Feel free to

Secret Exercise!

O.K., we all know about the standard exercises. The gyms, the equipment, the videos, the walking....but how about the times you are waiting in line at the grocery story; sitting waiting your turn for an appointment; talking on the phone; sitting in a chair at work; at the computer?? Yep, you guessed it: good ol' Muscle Flexing!

You can do it anytime, anywhere, no special equipment or clothing. Who cares what the weather is doing?! Just choose a muscle, sqeeeeeezzee, hold for about a 10 count, then relax it. Repeat a few times for each muscle (you know your body; do what it healthy for you). Then move on to a different muscle.  I like to target my problems areas, such as glutes (buttocks), triceps (upper arms--yeah, the batwings), quads (upper front leg), abdomen, etc.  And it's great for circulation if you do the lower leg muscles whenever you sit at the computer.

Need a reminder? A "trigger" to help you remember? Then connect it to something. One WLC'er over at the Dr Phil boards said she does Muscle Flexing whenever she thinks about her weight, food or eating...hmmm, she does it quite often! I do it at those times, too, and also every time I sit at the computer, sit and watch TV, or talk on the phone.

Sure, this is nothing new. But, are you doing it??

Oregon Dr Phil WLC Buddies

INTRODUCING...."MAINE"

Hi, my name is Paula and I am one of the moderator for our WLC-Maine group. We have 116 members to date. Everyone is great for giving and receiving online support.
We also have several weekly meetings throughtout the state. These give us the aded support we all need to get to our "GET REAL WEIGHT".
We also have a STATE WIDE MEETING once a month being the last Sunday of each. We have gotten the word out to so many people with the help of our local television news channel and the local newspapers. We seem to be growing each day since they interviewed ua at our last SWM and then I wrote a letter to the editor of the paper. Now there is also a reporter interviewing for a Sunday artical to run in our paper. WOW! What else can I say..lol. We are losing the unhealthy weight and using the 7 keys to get us there.This is so fantastic!! Thanks for the chance to let you know about us here in "MAINE".

GROUP HAPPENINGS CORNER.....

I was reading the book "Thursdays at Eight" by Debbie Macomber,
and I found that the four gals would meet for breakfast once a week
and they chose a word to describe themselves and would use that word
in their journaling for one year. I am borrowing that idea for our
group as pertains to the Weight Loss Challenge. I am asking each
person to pick a word that describes them in this challenge we all
are in. I am trying it for three months and then we can pick a new
word. Below I have put my first journal entry for my word so all can
see what I found when choosing this word. It can be a word to
describe how you feel or a problem area such as, binging or night
cravings or whatever. Use a word that you feel will help you in any
way you feel you need it. Maybe the word will be about motivation or
therapy or support. Anything goes here. You can keep these journal
entries to yourself or share with the group anything you may want
to. I plan to try to tie my words in with the Seven Keys as much as
possible.

My word is free!!!! I chose it because that is how I am starting
to feel now that I am working out and the weight is coming off.
Since picking up Dr. Phil's Ultimate Weight Loss Solution and also
watching the shows I found such a huge relief. I am like a
caterpillar breaking free from the coccon to become a beautiful
butterfly . Being overweight has always been a problem for me but it
took Dr Phil to show me how to get rid of it and keep it off. I
never realized how much the emotional garbage from the past had
caused me to eat ,and eat the wrong things ,and way too much. I am a
different person today than I was 6 months ago and it is because I am
now free to find the real me. I am looking forward to the challenge
and I know I will be a much better person in the end. Changing my
lifestyle instead of using willpower and dieting is the way to go. I
am slowly releasing the negative, depressed, angry, hurt person I was
in the past and freeing a new person to help me find the true
happiness I know I deserve

WATER

A glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University study.

Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slack the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one if 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.
